Choosing your Nanny options
When it comes to live-in and live-out options families often wonder, what is the difference and why would I choose one over the other?
Options. Options. Options
When it comes to the care of your children, you want the best, and that is what we focus on delivering. When it comes to other details about the nanny who joins your family, how do you pick between live-in and live-out options for your full-time nanny.
This is a fabulous option for families that have unpredictable schedules, live the on-call work life, or want to be able to create a customized schedule month by month as needed while still providing the nanny with a set amount of hours each week.
Those mornings you need help, it is there, those evenings you need help, it is there. And you and your Nanny will arrange a schedule that works for you all beforehand. Then, you rest easy knowing that when you need the extra set of hands, it will be there.
With live-in nannies, you will either provide them with a separate living space or a private bathroom and bedroom in your home space. The latter can sometimes make it difficult for you to have boundaries or for your nanny to truly feel “off” when she is not working.
Live-out nannies will not live with you or in a separate living space on your property and will commute to work each day that you have designated in your contract. This might be your only option if you cannot provide a private living space for your nanny. Live-out nannies will come and go as requested in your nanny contract, this option is nice for families or nannies who want to truly have their space to themselves when they are not working or the nanny is not scheduled to work. It also allows everyone to be refreshed when they reunite for the next work day.
Whatever you choose, live-in or live-out, set your boundaries and outline expectations clearly from the beginning so that everyone is on the same page!
